Pie Outreach
Over the past
year we have had to opportunity to team up with Marie Callender's to
deliver pies to those who faithfully serve our community.
Each month we purchase a few dozen pies and deliver them to various
places in the community. Our heart is to bless and thank all those
who serve and are not always recognized. DMV, the local
school system, our Mayor, our fire fighters and also our local hospitals
are all places we desire to continually bless.
Shasta
College Outreach
We are
a church where the vast majority of our congregation is under the
age of 30.
In this we truly recognize how hard it is to go to college, and also
the lack of money while doing so. Each year for the past
few years we have gone to Shasta College with money in hand and bought
books for students, as well as lunches, for anyone in the cafeteria.
We have been able to touch the lives of the Shasta College students
who are struggling to buy books and get through the semester.
We are also very thankful for the lunch ladies who work with us each
time we come out there.
Easter Celebration
A
couple of years ago our church, along with Outreach America an outreach
ministry of Little Country Church, teamed up to put on a 10,000
egg Easter egg hunt for the city of Redding. This was
a huge endeavor, but with the grace of God and a lot of hard work,
we pulled it off. Over 5,000 people
came to this event and received Easter baskets, face painting, games
and
time with the Easter bunny. The magnitude of this event
truly expresses the size of our heart for this city.
Valentines
Outreach
This event was a huge blessing for our community as well as for the
Farrel's. With the cooperation of some local radio stations and
our friends Ray and Ken on News Talk 1400, we were able to find the
longest married couple in Shasta County. Virgil and Henrietta
Farrel were our winners. We were able to purchase a limo ride and
dinner for the two of them at CR Gibbs for their 72nd Valentines
dinner. This couple has an amazing history in this area and now live
in Millville on a ranch with their son Bud close by. This family
was a great blessing to us in that we had so much fun talking with
them and getting to hear some of their great stories.
Thank you to the Farrel's for sharing your 72nd Valentines with us! |
